9/11- I finally had a pretty good night of sleep last night. We're in an enclosed room so there are no sounds of the animals to wake me up. I was happy to sleep better but kind of missed the animals. We had breakfast and at 8:00 set off for Victoria Falls. The falls on the Zambia side are only about 10 minutes away. We got all of the history of the area and then walked to the farthest point to see the falls. The water levels are extremely low so it's not as dramatic as it is in the rainy season. Then we crossed the border into Zimbabwe to see the other side of the falls. Zimbabwe definitely has the better view of the falls. We got quite wet at times from the spray coming off the falls. It was beautiful and a great experience to see. We took a break from sightseeing and had lunch at the hotel then a rest until 4:00 when we left for a river cruise down the Zambezi. It's a pretty impressive river, the fourth largest in Africa. We saw animals on the banks, elephant, buffalo, baboons, and hippos. We saw the sun set which was beautiful. We met a wonderful Australian man who we talked to for quite awhile. He has traveled extensively and on a trip to Alaska even went to Coldfoot. I still think that's crazy. Nobody goes to Coldfoot and here we are in Africa talking to a man from Australia who went to Coldfoot. One of my favorite things about traveling is the people you meet and the stories you hear.
